Dawn Cromwell is the President of Alpha Virtual Assistant Services. Before transitioning into the role of Virtual Assistant, Mrs. Cromwell spent more than ten years in a traditional corporate office atmosphere, providing high level administrative and personal support to Presidents, CEOs, and other C-level executives. Her industry experience includes online stock brokerage, software development, government sub-contractors, biotech venture capital, and telecommunications.
Dawn’s “can-do” attitude and background filling a variety of roles with smaller companies have provided her with skills and experience far beyond that of typical administrative staff. She has been placed in charge of human resource activities, event planning, creating original marketing materials, bookkeeping, and making all company travel arrangements. Her exceptional work ethics, combined with a continual pursuit of learning and a deep-seated perfectionism, have resulted in an outstanding level of service in each of the responsibilities she actively takes on.
Dawn’s strengths include the following:
A recognized office software wizard. Has tested at the Expert level in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Also skilled in Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and PageMaker; as well as Salesforce, 1ShoppingCart, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, QuickBooks, MS Visio, and various website creation programs; and is familiar with ACT!, MYOB, MS Access, MS Project, human resources information systems (HRIS), and a variety of smaller-market and proprietary software packages.
Writes articulate original correspondence and documentation. Proofreads and edits all office documentation and website materials for grammatical and punctuation errors, as well as general readability. Formats documents for overall visual consistency and professional appearance. Acts as central coordination contact for documents that have various authors and information sources. Compiles sections into final deliverable. (e.g., software manuals, technical proposals, contracts, general correspondence, presentations, etc.)
Designs and creates original marketing materials, including websites, multi-page brochures, tri-fold flyers, business cards, and company newsletters.Writes copy and produces graphic elements.
Selects and Administrates insurance benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD/STD, 401K, and company-specific perks. Writes/Updates employee manuals and company policies and procedures. Maintains personnel files. Tracks vacation accrual and usage. Payroll reporting. Recruiting and candidate selection process. Develops and implements employee recognition programs. Researches HR issues to ensure legal compliance.
Personal Assistant to CEO
Maintains Executive’s personal and professional calendar. Runs personal errands. House/pet sits. Fetches lunch/Starbuck’s/dry cleaning/etc. Takes car for service. Purchases gifts for family/friends. Writes personal and professional correspondence on behalf of the CEO.
Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable. Reconciles bank and credit card statements. Maintains petty cash account and company credit cards. Reviews expense reports and purchasing records for all employees. Enters data into accounting software. Runs financial reports and works with company accountant regarding reporting requirements.
Organizes corporate functions, such as regional conferences, holiday parties, company picnics, and meetings. Coordinates venue, menus, entertainment, lodging, travel, giveaways, etc.
Domestic & International. Makes air/hotel/car reservations. Creates itineraries. Provides detailed maps and directions. Manages last-minute schedule changes to all.
Designs and maintains databases for a variety of company purposes, utilizing a number of different software programs.
Basic office duties
Types 70 wpm with high accuracy. Troubleshoots office machines, including PCs, copiers, printers, fax machines, phone system, etc. Installs PC hardware and software and provides training and support. Transcribes dictated and hand-written notes. Purchases supplies. Manages office calendars. Develops and maintains filing and other organizational systems. Answers multi-line phone system. “Pitches in wherever needed.”
